I created this book, along with Scott Erickson, because we believe we pray because we are human, not because we are religious. Scott and I wanted to make something that helped provide language and imagery for the simple practice of connecting with God. This primal, human practice has become unnecessarily complicated by unhelpful expectations and bad culture.

Prayer: 40 Days of Practice” is…

40 guided prayers
40 contemplative images
7 reflections on the nature and practice of prayer
7 suggested practices from the historical tradition of prayer

You can get “Prayer: 40 Days of Practice” in one of two ways…

1. Pick it up at the online store!  At the store, you’ll find the book for only $11.99 along with several of Scott’s prints featuring the prayers and contemplative imagery from “Prayer: 40 Days of Practice.” A digital version is available for only $9.99.

2. Pick it up as part of Blood:Water Mission’s “Lent Tool Kit.”  The Lent Toolkit includes Prayer: 40 Days of Practice + a custom t-shirt designed by Scott Erickson, A Blood:Water water bottle and a sticker.

NOTE: Either route supports Blood:Water. In fact, from now through Lent (which runs from Feb 10-March 25), $2.00 from the sale of every Prayer book goes to support Blood:Water.

This book had its infancy four years ago  when I started sharing daily Lenten Prayers on Facebook and Twitter. Throughout this Lenten Season, I will continue that tradition by sharing additional prayers, thoughts, videos, reflections and images I consider part of my practice.

Some of that will make it to Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Some of it will make it to this blog. But the best way to get everything is to connect with me directly and have it delivered to your inbox.

Along with picking up the new book, jump to this page and, under the heading “Select
a group you’d like to join,” click “Lent 2016” and then “submit.”

Remember… Lent begins February 10.
